FEATURES

Power Rating: With 2,000 watts of continuous power, this inverter is guaranteed to run any of your appliances and equipment within its wattage range as long as the load is not greater than 2000 Watts. It also has a surge capability of 4000W which helps to kick-start those appliances such as your microwave, that require a large amount of power on startup. You need to check the maximum rating of your device before purchasing this inverter. Do not purchase this inverter if the power rating of your device exceeds the power rating of this inverter.   

120VAC Dual GCFI AC Outlets: These outlets unlike other similar rated pure sine wave inverter, are equipped with a standard Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) device with reset and test buttons. This feature provides a safe and convenient connection which allows you to safely power your electrical home appliances directly from these outlets. They have the ability to prevent electric shock in wet locations and accidental fire outbreaks by shutting off its electric power circuit.

LED Indicators: There are 3 LED lights that indicate the status of the inverter at any point in time during operation. However, this is not a very ideal display option because there is no way of monitoring the status of the inverter. An LCD would have been of greater benefit. Purchasing the remote panel accessory would aid you visually so you can be able to tell the status of your inverter.

Hardwire Port: Most pure sine wave inverters do not have a hardwire port. This feature makes it easy for you to connect the inverter directly to the electric circuit of your home using cables. It eliminates the need for a battery. However, it may not be an easy option for someone with little or no experience in handling these inverters.

Settings to change the frequency to 50 or 60Hz: This is a very wonderful benefit and an added bonus on the part of the Go Power company as other similarly rated inverters do not possess this feature. This feature allows this inverter to be used in different countries despite their varying frequencies. You can easily take your inverter with you even while on a short vacation to another country with a different utility frequency. The utility frequency for America is 60Hz so this is a suitable choice for you.

Heavy duty terminals: This feature allows you to connect your batteries easily and it accommodates large electrical loads. It has large positive and negative terminal lugs to supply the high current needed for this power inverter. A separate ground lug is also provided for the safe delivery of power.

Thermostatically Controlled Cooling Fan: The two small internal fans keep the unit cool while operating under heavy loads so proper ventilation is required for reliable operation. Like the similar rated inverters, they are thermostatically controlled which means that they only come on when the temperature rises above the normal temperature range for this inverter. The fans are ultra-quiet and will not be of any disturbance to you unlike the modified sine wave inverters.

Remote Port: This port allows connect directly to the remote panel accessory which gives you access to control the inverter from about 25ft. You can turn it off and on without even having to move an inch. However, this port is not wireless so you will need to connect the optional remote panel using a communications cable.

GP-SWR-B Remote Panel features an LED indicator and can be used to monitor the inverter status. It displays the battery voltage and load conditions such as the output power. It can also be used as an on/off switch for the inverter.

Go Power! DC Installation Kits [GP-DC-KIT4]: This kit helps you connect your battery safely and easily. This installation kit includes 10-inch large gauge battery cables, tie downs, lugs and the appropriate inverter fuse (which helps you protect yourself and your equipment) and mounting block.

Go Power! Transfer Switches: This helps you ensure safe connection between the inverter and the battery.

PROTECTIVE FEATURES

Power Save Mode: The power save mode shuts down the inverter when there is no load. This is not found in other inverters and it is a great feature that allows you to prevent your battery from draining unnecessarily.

Low Voltage Shutdown: This automatically shuts the inverter down if the battery voltage drops below 10±0.5VDC, thus protecting the battery from being completely discharged.

Low Voltage Alarm: This feature alerts you whenever the battery voltage level has become discharged to 10.5V or lower. It allows you to disconnect your devices before the inverter shuts down completely.

Over Voltage Shutdown: This feature shuts the inverter down automatically if the input voltage rises to more than 15VDC, to prevent devices from getting damaged.

This unit costs $639.99  . The reason is that this unit is specifically designed to be used in a permanent hardwire installation from your home to the inverter, which is why it has a hardwire port as part of its design. It has an attractive 2-year warranty plan that covers parts and labor.

PROS

  • Its AC ports are GCFI protected which means that you can safely connect your equipment to the inverter even in wet locations and not stand the risk of getting electrically shocked.
  • It has a hardwire port which allows you to connect directly from the inverter to your home.
  • It is an ultra-silent inverter as its fan are also very silent while running.
  • It has settings that allow you to change your frequency between 50-60Hz depending on which frequency is in operation in your location.

CONS

  • It does not have an LCD display unit which would have been a much better substitute for the LED lights.
  • Compared to other similar rated inverters, this inverter is very expensive and not too nice on the budget.
  • It has no USB port which is a very huge problem if you forgot to bring your charger along while on a trip or at work.
  • It is not portable compared to other similar rated pure sine wave inverters.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

This product on Amazon has received a lot of positive review among users. Some of the users commended its strong build and the assortment of accessories which help make the inverter experience an enjoyable and stress-free one. However, some of the critical reviews suggested that although this device is a great choice, there are still issues that require the attention of the manufacturers. On YouTube, one of the reviewers who also happens to be a customer complained of how dangerously close the battery terminals were. So far, this is one of the best inverters I have had the opportunity to review. Most of its drawbacks are made up for with its accessories. For instance, the lack of display unit can be helped by purchasing the remote panel which allows you to visually monitor the  inverter status. I believe that getting this inverter will be a great choice and investment for you and your electrical conveniences. Despite the cost, I’d purchase this inverter any day, anytime because I feel it best suits my needs. I will just have to keep my cellphone or tablet charger handy due to its lack of USB port as an alternative means of powering my electronic life.  To enjoy this unit, please identify the type of loads your inverter will be powering and how much you will be using them between charges. This will help you determine how much battery capacity you need. You’d do well to buy the remote switch as well, which costs around $80 and any other accessory you deem necessary. This unit is definitely worth your consideration.

Cost

The HQST Panel is the most cost effective. It had the lowest price although it has exactly the same specs as the Renogy Panel. In my opinion, these panels have the same source. They are just being marketed by different companies. If you choose to buy from HQST, you will be getting the exact same panel as Renogy. However since they are not the same company, the experience would not be the same.

Conclusion

The HQST company seems to have discovered the manufacturers of the Renogy Panels. They purchase the same panels and sell them for less. This is my guess. I may be wrong. If you like the Renogy, you may as well go for the HQST but be ready to deal with the “smaller” company. From my research, there has been no major complaint about the customer service of HQST. Renogy on the other hand has been around for a while and so they have a name to protect.

Eco Worthy and WindyNation are also in the market to make some profit. If you like them go for them. My suggestion is this. I find the Renogy Solar Panels quite good and as such I would buy from them or HQST.  When buying a lot of pieces, the different in prices add up. So the verdict is in. Buy the HQST 100 Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panels if you are willing to support the newer company or Go for Renogy 100 Watt monocrystalline Solar Panels if you are looking for a trusted brand.

I think I would save the $20- $30 plus on each panel. Just Saying!!!

What is a Solar Water Pump?
